David John Hailey
Pastor
David John Hailey is the Pastor of Oxford Baptist Church, where he began serving in September 2025. He is passionate about preaching that connects Scripture with everyday life, weaving together biblical depth, storytelling, humor, and hope. He also enjoys leading Bible studies, walking with people through life’s joys and challenges, and helping the church live out God’s mission in the world.
A native of North Carolina, David John earned his Doctor of Ministry from Campbell University Divinity School, where his research focused on aligning church mission with the missio Dei—God’s greater mission in the world. He also holds a Master of Theological Studies from Duke Divinity School, where he studied Baptist hymnody, and a Bachelor of Arts in Church Music from Campbell University. His background in music continues to shape his ministry, and he enjoys leading worship through song and playing guitar.
Before coming to Oxford, David John served congregations in both North Carolina and Illinois, most recently as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Oak Park. Over the years, he has guided churches through seasons of growth, new partnerships, and fresh approaches to ministry. He believes deeply in the church as a community of grace, welcome, and service.
David John is married to Dr. Claire Hailey, a pediatrician, and they are the proud parents of two children, Abigail and John. Their home is also filled with the joyful energy of their two Labradors, Kylie and Quinn. Away from ministry, David John enjoys singing and playing guitar, writing, playing golf, following Duke sports, and cheering on the Chicago Bears and Cubs.
Bryant Moxley
Associate Pastor of Music and Pastoral Care
Bryant Moxley began his service as Associate Pastor for Music and Pastoral Care at Oxford Baptist Church in March of 2026. Bryant’s deep passion in music ministry is to grow mature disciples of Jesus Christ. Bryant’s vision is for a music ministry that seeks to involve and develop the gifts of all who are willing to offer themselves to God’s ministry and service. A life-long Baptist, Bryant believes in the priesthood of all believers and seeks to serve as an equipper and encourager who empowers all Christ followers to discover, cultivate and share their spiritual gifts for God’s Kingdom work. His strong desire is to model and encourage care for those who are experiencing illness, grief and other difficult circumstances in their lives.
He previously served churches in several states including his recent service as Minister of Music and Worship at Wake Forest Baptist Church. Additionally, Bryant previously served as Assistant Professor of Music and Music Department Chair at Bluefield University (Bluefield, VA). He is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University (Arkadelphia, AR) and received his masters degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY). He is active professionally as the director of the Northeast Piedmont Chorale, and as part of the leadership team of the Segue Youth Choir Festival and Music and Worship Arts Camp at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Conference Center.
An avid runner, Moxley has survived several half marathons. He enjoys tennis, cooking, travel and spending time with his daughters Anna and Sarah Grace, their husbands, and their dogs as much as possible. Bryant also cares for his father and step-mother who live in Youngsville.
Jennifer Taylor
Music Ministry Associate
Jennifer Taylor is a native of Clinton, NC, and a 2002 graduate of the Campbell University School of Pharmacy. After working as a pharmacist for 18 years, she began leaning into a calling into Music Ministry that she had felt in high school, which eventually led to being hired as Music Ministry Assistant and Pianist/Accompanist at Wake Forest Baptist Church in January of 2023. She has accompanied multiple groups including two children’s choirs, Youth Choir,
JOY Singers (senior adult choir), Instrumental Ensemble, Chancel Choir and Men’s Chorus. She has also been a member of Chancel Choir, Contemporary Ensemble, and Adult Handbells. In addition to her involvement in Music Ministry, she has also served as chair of deacons, women’s Bible study leader, youth chaperone, assisted living ministry coordinator, and in several other volunteer roles and committees including Music Ministry Council and Music Building Committee.
She met her husband Ken in pharmacy school. He has worked as a pharmacist for WalMart since 2008, and he currently is working primarily in Henderson and Oxford. They have two children, Ben, who is a sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Abby, who is a junior at Heritage High School in Wake Forest. Her parents live nearby in Wake Forest.
When she is not working or volunteering at church, she enjoys teaching private piano lessonsout of her home. She loves playing tennis and enjoys reading, learning foreign languages, andcuddling with her cats.
Cindy Sadler
OBC WEE School Director
Cindy Sadler is the Director and Teacher of the three year old class at our WEE School Program. She is married to Barry and together they have three grown children, Andrew (Kayla), Alyssa and Adison. Cindy taught at Wee School for 19 years before taking a brief break to return as Director/Teacher. All three of her children are WEE School graduates and she even remembers attending a few drop-in days at WEE School when it was first started. She and her family are members of Oxford Baptist Church. Cindy loves this program and the lifelong relationships it brings to families and our church.
Marlene Seamster
Financial Secretary/Office Manager
Marlene Seamster is a graduate of Halifax County High School, Danville Community College, and Averett University. She has one daughter, Allison. Marlene loves her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and faithfully attends Union Christian Church in Virgilina, VA, where she joyfully serves as the pianist. She considers it an honor and a blessing to serve as Financial Secretary at Oxford Baptist Church.
Peggy Hart
Church Secretary/Receptionist
Peggy came onboard to OBC in June of 2022, with many years of customer service experience, after retiring from Granville County Public Schools. She grew up in Granville County and says coming to OBC is a real blessing!! She can be reached in the church office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Peggy is married to Ricky Hart, and they have six grandchildren.
Steve Perkins
Facilities Manager
Steve Perkins, though already a member, began employment with Oxford Baptist Church in 2017. He is a Granvile County native, husband, and father. He enjoys his position as Facilities Manager which includes the challenges of maintaining the many aging aspects of the historical structure and incorporating modern technology to meet the Church’s growing needs.
